I will stamp all over 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" the American as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex two time world boxing king Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making huge financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and stated he would derail the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Size Difference

As both boxers met for the traditional confrontation, with their size difference clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the match is actually happening.
